2018 sees Chichester Cruiser Racing Club celebrating its seventieth anniversary (more history of the club here).
From the start the Club’s objectives were based around racing. Our goal is to provide high quality, low cost racing for both expert and novice sailors with full and friendly assistance for those new to racing. We might call the Chichester Cruiser Racing Club (CCRC) a virtual club – one that meets for racing and social events but has no club house as it continues to work with other clubs within Chichester Harbour as well as clubs in the wider area. And it is at these clubs that we typically gather for social occasions after Saturday races.
To mark 70 years of cruiser racing we will be holding special events and activities including a special dinner, a commemorative book, a seminar for those interested in taking up cruiser racing, and open events to enable potential members to participate in a CCRC race either in their own boat or as crew on another.
Do you ever find yourself trying to sail faster that another yacht? Most sailors do. And if you enjoy the social aspects of sailing in company then the CCRC could be for you.
Chichester Cruiser Racing Club is dedicated to cruiser racing with weekend races in Hayling Bay, the Solent and beyond. We are also committed to providing full and friendly assistance for those interested in or new to racing.
For early 2018 we are planning a seminar to provide an Introduction to Cruiser Racing for potential members. Click here for further details.
On the weekend of 9th June we will hold a special racing event for non-members. Details will be announced closer to the time but guest yachts are always welcome and can apply to join a race via our online form.
A special 70th Anniversary dinner will be held on Sunday 6th May. This will take place at the Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes. This is part of the bank holiday weekend race programme but is also open to members and guests separately from the race programme. Click here for details.
