Lobstacle

Slow boat to Chi…
With light airs we knew today was not going to be good for Intrepid. Nevertheless, we let the cruising chute out of its cage. However, it was when a lobster-pot buoy skipped towards us, tapped on the hull, then disappeared we knew we had a problem – we stopped. Down came the chute and main and we considered what to do; slowly the boat swung round, we rolled out some genoa and sailed back along our course and out popped the buoy.
Did we give up? Well nearly.
Our thanks to Chimera for waiting for us to finish.

Commodore’s Reception

Chichester Cruiser Racing Club Commodore’s Reception at the Hayling Island lifeboat station: lots of members and guest officers from other clubs. Then as we cleared up a chance to see the speedy response and launch to a ‘shout’

Missing The Buoy

Glorious day to be on the water even if not the conditions for Intrepid.
Ironic that the race rescheduled because of a missing buoy at the start of the season saw a buoy lifted out as we were heading for it!

Bembridge Waters

What a lovely day. I hope people enjoyed today’s race off Bembridge. I thought it made an interesting change. That’s a nice patch of water despite being somewhat encrusted with parked shipping.
